Youth Ministry Insights, Past, Present and Future from Marko

Mark Oestreicher “Marko” describes some of the thinking behind his book, Youth Ministry 3.0: A Manifesto of Where We’ve Been, Where We Are & Where We Need to Go, as well as some interesting insights into how the conversation of the book continues to evolve. Listen in as he poses questions about context, contextualization, and identify formation in adolescents.

In Youth Ministry 3.0, you’ll explore, along with Mark Oestreicher and the voices of other youth workers, why we need change in youth ministry. You’ll get a quick history of youth ministry over the last 50 years. And you’ll help dream about what changes need to take place in order to create the next phase of youth ministry—the future we need to create for effective ministry to students.

Marko also enjoys speaking to youth workers and parents.  Here are some recent reviews of his speaking.

Marko has the unique ability to combine critical thinking with a relevant understanding of the times at hand.  I’ve appreciated walking away from one of Marko’s talks feeling both mentally and spiritually challenged; he draws his audience to think.  Our youth pastors may leave the session after it’s over, but the conversations stimulated by Marko continue even today.

It has been an asset to the National Conference on Youth Ministries to have Marko come and teach and facilitate our 500 full-time youth & family ministers and spouses. His expertise is invaluable and his 2010 critique of our board and conference will help us take NCYM to a new level. We will continue to use Marko and highly recommend him to you.
