Has Marriage date nights become The Forgotten Ministry?

Has Marriage date nights become The Forgotten Ministry? Many relationship experts recommend that in order for any marriage to keep the spark alive it is vital that couples partake in regular Date Nights.  A  Date Night is simply a time when the couple takes some time to get away and solely enjoy spending time together.  Period.  The main objective is FUN!  There are no discussion on finances or problem solving other household issues.  For many couples, consistent Date Nights help make sorting out household details easier because time with their spouse feels more like a fun place to be than a Board Meeting.

Yet, in a modern world this can seem impossible for some couples due to busy schedules, parenting obligations and even fatigue.  Today’s culture has many demands on us. The economy in recent years has forced  many to work harder and longer just to get by.  Many parents are feeling stretched between school obligations, extracurricular activities for their children, mowing the lawn, folding the laundry and feed the dog.   If there is any time leftover in the day, people may use this time to recharge themselves individually – just so they can start all over again tomorrow.   Unintentionally then, their relationship becomes stale and ignored, leaving many to feel more like roommates than lovers.

What is a church to do?  How can your church help the couples in your community strengthen their marriage and rekindle the flame?  A Date Night with Comedian Jeff Allen can help.  Designed for busy couples, this special fun Date Night  is  specifically designed to encourage marriages with great relationship comedy.
