Joe Castillo joined artists Jon Christopher Davis & Deryl Dodd for an event aired on the Pentagon Channel. Their performance included live Custom SandStory of the Patriotic song “The Boy I Left Behind.”
“The Boy I Left Behind” that is now the official theme song for The American Fallen Soldiers Project – an organization that helps the mourning families of fallen military men and women. The heartfelt and sincere lyrics of his song have struck a chord for those affected by war.
About Jon Christopher Davis:
After years of writing songs in Nashville for publishers, Warner Chappell and BMG, Jon Christopher returned home to his Texas roots. While in Nashville, he penned songs for artists like Dolly Parton, Hal Ketchum, Tammy Cochran, Sherrie Austin, Billy Ray Cyrus (Hanna Montana’s dad) and Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles. He also recorded his own songs for Warner Brothers, Sony and MCA Records, with the angelic voice of Vince Gill singing back-up.
