Triple Espresso–a highly caffeinated comedy is about…
- Three guys
- A coffee house
- An utter lack of common sense
- Climbing the ladder of success, downwards
- Duststorms in Nebraska
- Dancing in Zaire
- Things that disappear…and reappear
- A gorilla in a music contest
- Hand shadow puppets
- The single most embarrassing moment ever broadcast on live national television
- The funniest show you will see this century!
Written by Bob Stromberg, Michael Pearce Donley, and Bill Arnold, the show described by the Los Angeles Times as “...a triple jolt of inspired craziness” is high-energy, vaudeville-inspired comedy for all ages. It tells the rags-to-rags story of an aspiring trio whose bid for showbiz fame and fortune ended in 4 minutes of magnificent failure on national television.
Based on Stromberg’s physical humor, Arnold’s comedy magic and Donley’s original music and parodies, it’s a theater experience unlike any other often leaving members of the audience crying—and shrieking—with laughter.
The play was initially written to complement the specialized skills of the authors; but it soon became clear that there was demand for multiple productions. Over thirty actors have been trained for the company and the show has had as many as six productions running simultaneously. Triple Espresso has carved out a distinctive niche in the entertainment spectrum: its irresistible, clean humor crosses generations, and it’s as funny the fifth time as the first.
The show has entertained over 1.7 million people in 44 cities in 6 countries. Its flagship production ran continuously in Minneapolis for 12 years and now returns each year for the holidays. A production in San Diego ran for 11 years. The show has also played such U.S. cities as Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Milwaukee, Denver, Cleveland, St. Louis, Tulsa, Phoenix and many others, with foreign productions in Dublin, London, Ghent, Munich and Berlin.
