4 Common Mistakes made when planning a Comedy Outreach Event

Why choose Comedy for your next community outreach event? The answer is quite simple: everyone enjoys laughter. When we laugh, we are sampling the joy God intends for us. However, you can schedule the best Christian comedian and still the event can flop. Here are some tips to help make sure your Comedy outreach event is a success:

Common Mistakes made when planning a Comedy Outreach Event
1. Forget about the target audience.

When planning a Christian comedy outreach event, often the evening includes programming that only appeals to Christians – rather than the target audience. Consider leaving the praise and worship band out of the programming. Or avoid collecting an offering. If the intention of your event is outreach, then Comedy can stand alone as the main programming.

2. Forget the purpose of ticket sales

When doing an outreach event it is easy to forget the purpose of ticket sales. Ticket sales can be a great means to further outreach. For each ticket sold, give the buyer an extra ticket. Encourage them to give the extra ticket to someone that would normally not attend church or come to your event. In addition, using tickets gives your comedy event a perceived credibility. “Free” does not always mean “quality.”

3. Choose the wrong Christian comedian

Many outreach events fail because the comedian does not understand anything about outreach. Their material is too churchy and they only appeal to christians. They may even speak in “Christianese.” Prior to the event, take the time to discuss the goals of your event with the comedian so that working together your outreach event is a success.

This question is simple and difficult. there is no straight foreward answer because there is more than one. Your friend has tried to replace you by getting a new friend, this could be a way of coping, she will say she moved on but this cant be true because it is hard to walk away from a true and good friend.

You just need to act casual at first and not uncomfortable, conversation also cant be pushed because this would add intensity. You need to talk to her naturally and if nothing had happend, ask her how she has been doing, what shes been doing. And with her new friend do this same, although it wont be normal just talk to them both and ask them to like a movie or something.

Hope this is helpful, if not sorry.
