- Guitar Comedian
Matt Jernigan knows sometimes finding just the right talent for your event is challenging. You want everyone to enjoy the show, maybe forget about life issues, work or school related matters; and you don’t want to offend anyone. However, there aren’t many modern-day performers that offer genuinely entertaining shows that are perfectly clean, safe and non-offensive (unless of course you find that celebrity impressions wound your delicate sensibilities).
Matt Jernigan combines many talents into his comedic performances, yet he leaves one thing out, profanity and crudeness. The whole family will laugh at his studied, comedic impressions, whimsical songs and quick wit. Matt parodies many famous personalities from all walks of life including country, rock, R&B, pop and hip hop stars. He brings his own guitar and typically over a dozen recognizable impressions to every show.
Matt portrays many surprisingly various characters with ease. Some impressions many audiences enjoy including:
Hip Hop, Rock and Pop Stars Like
Guns n’ Roses
Michael Bolton and
Personalities and Actors Like
and there are many, many more!
Matt often performs for groups of little ones, teenagers, college kids, adults and seniors; and for mixed age groups at corporate functions, conventions, trade shows, awards banquets, special events, schools, festivals, staff appreciation dinners, conventions, fairs, country clubs, colleges, Christmas parties, Chamber of Commerce meetings, fundraisers, benefits, private parties, and keynote speaker addresses.
Part of Matt’s charm is that he connects with his audience right away to make them feel at ease. His goal is to inspire everyone to have fun, yet do so while offering a completely, 100% clean performance. Because of that, you can feel comfortable inviting him to any event.
In addition to his comedy work, Matt has significant professional experience as an actor on TV and films. He is also a singer and songwriter. His resume credits include guest performances on the TV shows Matlock, Days of Our Lives, the X Files, Make Me Laugh on Comedy Central, Laugh USA on XM Radio; movies including Velocity Trap and Empire Records; and commercials for Hyundai, Pizza Hut, the Grammy Awards and Fox NFL. He has also performed at the Improv, the Icehouse of Pasadena and the World Famous Comedy Store comedy clubs in LA.
Matt hails from Wilmington North Carolina and has lived in Los Angeles for 13 years, performing stand up. He majored in Communications and Broadcasting along with Theater Arts and Speech at East Carolina University. He has also won awards at several comedy and voice competitions.
Matt’s fans also have many positive things to say about his work. Many feel that he is easy to work with, and as a person, he is professional, polite and has a great sense of humor. Many of his previous employers share that he works hard to entertain his audience and that his brand of comedy is the perfect fit for any organization. As a Christian, Matt just feels blessed that the Lord has given him the chance to perform for a living.
